PHYSICAL THERAPY
At Jackson Park Hospital’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
the focus of our Physical Therapy Program is to relieve pain, restore impaired functions, improve mobility and prevent or reduce permanent physical disabilities. Upon referral from a doctor, our experienced therapists will perform a one-on-one assessment and evaluation to develop an individualized program of care tailored to each patient’s needs. The needs of the patient are addressed through education, training and treatment.
A patient's individualized treatment plan may encompass various techniques including therapeutic exercise, gait training, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, stretching, postural re-education, and various modalities such as Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation, Heat and/or Cold therapy to relieve pain. The objective of these treatment techniques is for the patient to build strength and endurance, gain range of motion, and improve balance and coordination while reducing and or eliminating pain. Our goal is to return patients to optimal health to improve their overall well being and quality of life.
